Effective May 23, 2026
A Peek room only works if everyone in it is acting in good faith. These are the rules — short, plain, non-negotiable.
1 · Be a real human, in good faith
One account per person. Use a name that real people would recognize as yours. No bots, no scrapers, no shadow accounts. Impersonating another person, a venue, a brand, or Peek itself is grounds for immediate removal.
2 · Respect the room
No harassment. No hate speech. No slurs.
No sexual content, ever. No content involving minors in any sexual or sexualized context — this is grounds for permanent removal and reporting to law enforcement.
No threats of violence. No glorification of violence. No incitement.
No doxxing — sharing another person's contact information, address, employer, or other private details without their explicit consent.
3 · Earn the message
The peek mechanic exists so messages are earned, not sprayed. Don't try to game it — no bulk-peeking, no notification farming, no scripted automation. If you wouldn't walk up and say it in person, don't send it.
When you guess and earn a one-message window, use it. A creepy, threatening, or harassing opener will get you blocked and reported — sometimes by the recipient, sometimes by us.
4 · Stay safe
Don't share private information — your address, phone number, financial info, or anyone else's. Don't coordinate meetings with strangers outside the venue if anything feels off.
If someone in a room makes you uncomfortable: block them (two taps, they disappear from the room and any future room you share). If the behavior is serious: report them. Every report is reviewed by a human moderator within 24 hours.
If you're ever in danger in or around a venue, call local emergency services first. We can't replace 911.
5 · Venues and brands
Venue messages carry a verified VENUE badge. Brand-funded campaigns are clearly labeled. Treat the venue staff with the same respect you'd show them in person — they're working, and they can mute or remove guests from their room.
If you see a campaign that's misleading, deceptive, or violates these guidelines, report it. We hold venues and brands to the same conduct standard as everyone else.
6 · Consequences
For lower-stakes violations:
- A first-pass warning from our moderation team.
- Temporary mute in the affected room (24–72 hours).
- A short suspension from Peek (7 days for repeated lower-stakes issues).
For serious violations — harassment, threats, doxxing, sexual content involving minors, incitement:
- Immediate permanent ban from Peek across all current and future accounts.
- Where applicable, reports to law enforcement and to platform integrity authorities.
7 · How to report
In-app: long-press any message or tap a profile → Report. Pick a reason; add detail if you can. Reports are confidential — the person you're reporting is not notified.
By email for urgent or off-platform issues: safety@joinpeek.app.
8 · Appeals
If your account is restricted and you believe it was an error, reply to the moderation email with context. A second moderator (not the one who issued the original action) reviews every appeal within 7 business days.
This document is a working draft pending final review by counsel. For questions, contact the team.
