In the room or not at all
Every feature anchors to a physical place. If you’re not in the room, you’re not in the chat. No workarounds, no lookalike modeling.
The third place is back. We're building the room around it. Peek is the chat for the place you're actually in. Café, coworking, bar, restaurant, hotel lobby — the room opens when you walk in and closes when you leave.

Butterfly launches on a college campus. The premise was small and stubborn: students wanted the chat to already exist when they walked into the dorm — not another app to download. Schedule-aware, location-aware, real names.
10,000+ verified students across two campuses. 4.4★ on the App Store. The "room shape" — location-gated, time-bounded, real-name — worked at every density it was tested at.
The same students who used Butterfly at school were graduating into cafés, lobbies, coworking floors, restaurants, bars. The room they wanted on campus, they wanted in the city. We started building.
Twelve venues running their own rooms. Branded chats above the bar. Order-to-seat tied to the POS. The first guests started peeking each other across the room within the first weekend.
Spirits, coffee, naturals, and snack brands started placing campaigns inside the rooms their customers were already in. Native to the moment. POS-tied. Zone-exclusive.
Peek expands city by city, the same way Butterfly expanded campus by campus. Density first, scale second. Every new city starts with one room.
Every feature anchors to a physical place. If you’re not in the room, you’re not in the chat. No workarounds, no lookalike modeling.
No archive. No screenshot threads. No notifications from rooms you’re no longer in. The chat closes with the room.
One account per person. One chosen name and face in the room. Phone-verified, human-moderated, two-tap block. The opposite of anonymous locker-room apps.
The venue owns its room. Pinned messages get a verified VENUE badge. Orders route to the seat. The host’s voice is the loudest in the chat.
We don’t chase the algorithm. One-message peek mechanics. No infinite DM slides. The win is the room — not the time spent staring at it.
Tonight there’s a room you don’t know about yet. We want to be the reason you walk into it.
